Using this site

nearbyuk is free to read. You may read it, link to it, and quote from it with attribution. You may not copy it wholesale to republish as your own, and you may not scrape it to rebuild a competing directory.

What the information is

It is a description of things that exist elsewhere: businesses, published statistics, public records. We put effort into getting it right and we say where every figure comes from on the methodology page, but we cannot guarantee it is complete or current.

In particular: opening hours change without telling us, a business may have closed since we last checked, and recorded crime figures are published about two months in arrears. Ring ahead rather than relying on a page.

Listings are not recommendations

A business appearing here is not an endorsement, a vetting or a recommendation. We do not check trade qualifications, insurance, accreditations or the quality of anybody's work. Ratings shown are Google's, not ours, and we host no reviews.

Any dealing you have with a business you found here is between you and them. We take no commission, we are not a party to it, and we cannot resolve a dispute about it.

Crime information

Recorded crime figures come from the Home Office and are published under the Open Government Licence. Locations in that data are anonymised to points near, deliberately not at, where an offence happened. Nothing on this site identifies a crime at an address or associates a business with one, and it must not be read or reused as though it did.

Links to other sites

We link to businesses' own websites and to sources. We do not control them and are not responsible for what is on them.

Our liability

We provide this site as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss arising from relying on information here, from a business you found here, or from the site being unavailable. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Your listing

If you run a business listed here and want it corrected or removed, ask and it will be done. See the editorial policy. Paying for an enhanced listing does not change its position: see how we are funded.

Changes

These terms change when the site does. The date at the top of this page is when they were last reviewed.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
